Wang Leehom - King of Chinese Pop
Wang Leehom, often hailed as the “King of Chinese Pop,” is a globally renowned singer-songwriter, actor, producer, and director. Known for his unique blend of R&B, hip-hop, and traditional Chinese music, Leehom has revolutionized the music industry with his innovative sound and captivating performances. His other film credits include Ang Lee’s thriller Lust, Caution (2007); the action-comedy Little Big Soldier (2010) alongside Jackie Chan; My Lucky Star (2013) with Zhang Ziyi; and Michael Mann’s cyber-thriller Blackhat (2015), where he starred with Chris Hemsworth, Tang Wei, and Viola Davis. His role in Forever Young (2018) earned him the Best Actor award at the 2018 Golden Lotus Awards in Macau.
Leehom is also a dedicated environmental activist. His album Change Me was created to inspire eco-awareness among Chinese youth. A symbol of global unity, he served as a torchbearer for both the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and the 2012 London Summer Olympics, becoming the only artist in Mandarin pop to carry the torch twice. Additionally, he performed at the 2008 Olympics closing ceremony in Beijing.
As a longtime ambassador for World Vision, Leehom has supported numerous humanitarian initiatives. He represented World Vision Taiwan and was twice honored as World Vision Malaysia’s anniversary ambassador, in 2012 and 2019.
