duudee i still can't believe he did a collab with jin, It's FIRE I adore this album. I love rangkai. My favorite tracks were 1, 2, 3, 5, & 9. Because I'm a fan of fast tracks, but his slow tracks managed to move me. THAT's saying alot because I usually don't like slow tracks, but boy Leehom's slow tracks are extremely heart-wrenching. The songs on Heroes of the World are catchier than those on Xin Zhong De Re Yue, because I ADORE the faster tracks. Anyways, I love all the songs, which is actually really a statement especially since I like the ballads as well. There is just something in his voice and emotion and hooks me to the ballads I hardly buy any chinese singers' albums but this one just blew me away Overall this is an awesome album...and i'm loving it!! The sound of the album is unique and it showcases his talents & skills as singer, songwriter & producer.
Awesome Tracks Wednesday, January 18, 2006

Zai Mei Bian: This is a very cute and fun inspired track, and I cannot get the chorus out of my head. The song is interwoven with the Chinese influence, with all sorts of instruments like the Chinese flute and er-hu and includes cameo appearances by opera singers. Very awesome and unexpected, but nonetheless lovable. The song is extremely stylish, well put-together, and catchy. And his rap at the end blows me away. Not only is he THE BALLAD KING, his rapping skills have definitely improved and OMG it just went WHOOSH, and it just left me speechless. Awesome. Hua Tian Cuo' is a Chinese-influenced R&B inspired ballad. I has a very matured traditional quality to the sound. I really dislike Chinese music, but Leehom proves me wrong with this track, this style has more of an upbeat taste while still keeping the traditional feel and it suits my liking very well. Gai Shi Yin Xiong FEAT. Jin 'tha MC': This is MY LOVE. Very awesome title track, and everything about the song from Leehom, to the female vocals, to Jin rapping is stuck in my head. It so awesome because it not like a normal song that just has one type of sound, the song itself is a complex mixture of different songs and styles. It almost sounds like more than 1 song and I like the electric guitar solo in the middle. Leehom also does a very good pera impersonation at the very beginning of the song. It is an intricate blending and mixing of styles and sound with fun spontaneity. I also LOVE the addition of the Cantonese parts. Kiss Goodbye: It continues to amaze me, how big a variety of songs Leehom is able to compose. And it amazes me even more because he wrote the lyrics to this song and it is absolutely gorgeous. This is another heart-wrenching ballad of his for his ex-girlfriend. Not emotional in a sad-depressing way, but it has a glint of hope to the song and it makes the song so awesome J Wan Mei De Hu Dong FEAT. Rain and Lim Jeong Hee: Leehom collabs with 2 Korean artists on this track, and the track is in English, Korean, and Chinese. It may sound like a weird combo, but it a very interesting mix with a slight latin-tango feel to it. I not totally digging Rain’s voice, but Lim Jeong Hee and Wang Leehom have awesome voices. Lim Jeong Hee has an Alicia Keys vibe to her voice. This song makes me want to get up and dance. Da Cheng Xiao Ai: This song is a very light and mellow song, and has a sense of innocence. It can be compared to A Simple Song, except Da Cheng Xiao Ai, is better than A Simple Song? It is composed on the Chinese pentatonic scale and the simplicity of the song is what makes it so addicting and perfect to place on repeat. Di Yi Ge Qing Chen This is not as emotional a song as Kiss Goodbye, but it softness sounds even more heartbreaking. Leehom doesn’t show off as much of his vocals, but still it has a strong message. His voice is extremely sad and it makes me want to shed tears. , it's still a beautiful song. Ge Er Men It has a old fashioned r/b taste to it. I really like the song because it really refreshing and catchy, and I always find myself singing along. I really like this track, though, it is a bit too short. He sings this song with a Beijing accent. Ran Kai: This song sounded weird at first (like Zhu Lin Shen Chu), but with more listens, I really like this track. It is very experimental and it has a very interesting mix of Chinese drums and cymbals. It actually quite addicting once I get used to the somewhat niqueness?of it. I didn like it one first listen, but it has become one of my favorite tracks on the album. It just it sounds sooooo new and something I don hear in C-pop. Ai Yin Wei Zai Zin Zhong (Lee Hom & Fans) A lot of my friends like this song because it such a pretty song. And I think ita great song, but compared to his other songs on the album, because the other songs leave such an awesome impression, this song didn’t leave as strong an impression. It is nice to listen to and cute, but it did not leave me in awe as much as the other 9 tracks. Nonetheless nice work :P This is my favorite Leehom album so far, and one of the best Cpop albums I've heard thus far.
I'm in love with this album! Wednesday, January 18, 2006

I just received my album, and I listened to it. I have to say Leehom is the ultimate musician. He has shown so much growth since his previous albums. His albums continue to bring surprises for me. Revolution was pop/r&b, Impossible to Miss You was pop, Forever First Day was ballads, Wei Yi was rockish, Unbelievable was hip-pop, Shangri-la was R/b+sounds of minority groups, GSYX is r/b+hiphop+Chinese opera. He is the only musician I know that is not only able to change his styles so much, but he is able to WRITE songs that sound good in each genre!!! Lee Hom's last album 'Shangri-La' was simply wonderful and I absolutely adored it. I loved how he embraced the Chinese culture in his music by adding hints of music from Tibet, Yu-nan, Inner Mongolia, and mainland China. It was amazing how he was able to incorporate such traditional sounds into r/b. But this album as the second chapter extends his influence, along with my respect for his goal: trying to create an identity for Chinese music. Many people have lost track of their Chinese culture, and it awesome Leehom brings it back in his album. As much as I loved Shangri-La, GSYX by far is better. It is really catchy and has the right amount of ballads. Not to much to be boring, but just enough to create a balance with the faster tracks. Lee Hom has stayed true to his word of expanding Chinese popular music while incorporating and keeping the Chinese identity. I was getting this feeling before that I was getting bored of Asian R&B/Hip-Hop because many of the music sounds exactly like American hiphop/r&b. BUT BOY HAS LEEHOM CHANGED MY MIND. HIS ALBUM IS SIMPLY EARGASMIC. That guy continues to surprise me with his music.
You will LOVE it! Wednesday, January 18, 2006

my g/f likes his music and she was listening to his new album in her car. Haha and I was very impressed, because the song she was playing sounded pretty good, so I decided to buy the cd to try it out. I usually don like Chinese music because Cpop sounds bland and the same to me, but I really like this album because it stands out from the pack. It awesome that he is able to incorporate the Chinese culture through opera into the r/b vibes of the song. Very talented person. And it very surprising how versatile a composer he is because his ballads and fast tracks sound so different yet so good, it surprising that one person composed such different tracks (i.e track 3 and track 4) Overall I really like this guy music, maybe he will bring my interest back into Chinese music. Very unique and not sappy. Def Recommend the album! Than she is cute

LeeHom is the only singer/artist I still look forward to these days. He's always so serious about his music, always brings us surprises, and he never let us down. Another good singer is Sandy Lam; I like LeeHom and Sandy is because they love music, when you love music, it shows!

Leehom is on a roll; his second "chinked out" album is amazing! This album isn't as diverse as his last album, Shangri-La, which experimented with the sounds [instruments and vocals] of various cultures. This album focuses on Chinese opera (only in the first three tracks), but that doesn't mean it's worse; in fact, I like this album more than his last. My favorite songs on this album are 在梅邊 (the ending of that song is insane), 花田錯 (very beautiful), 蓋世英雄 (this collaboration with Jin [formerly Jin Tha MC] is AMAZING; I can't stop listening to it!), 完美的互動 (another GREAT collaboration. Bi and J-Lim's vocals are great), and Kiss Goodbye (more raw and more simple than his previous ballads like Forever Love, but it is swoon-worthy as always). Track 9, 讓開, is a bit hard to swallow at first. My first impression was that it was very MESSY- there are a lot of seemingly random, clashing sounds. But it grew on me, and now I think this is the most creative song he's done. And track 10, 愛 因為在心中, is surprisingly a song that his fans wrote and sang for him. Leehom adds a little bit of ad-libbing in the end of the song. Very sweet and cute. All in all, this album is a MUST BUY for old fans, as well as for people who are completely new to his music.

This album is the best of all the albums that he had released. Highly recommanded to everyone dat likes R&B. This album has the full taste of R&B and the feel of chinese opera especially 花田錯 and 在梅邊。 So, if you would like to hear the songs please buy the artist's album to appreciate his hard work. He deserved it.

Wow I didn't know about this guy until 2004. But I heard about him through XZDRY and that album was pretty good. BUT THIS ALBUM is much much hotter. I like this album better than his last. Very good job leehom. Very versatile and mixing the styles real well. I'm impressed, and he writes his own lyrics, composes, arranges and much more. WE need more talented cpop artists like this dude. yo props. Track 1 is HOT, his rappin is on fire. And for someone who raps soo well, I surprised that he can sing ballads just as well. This guy has one of the best voices I've heard. Clear. Track 2 is frikin' awesome, I really like it. TRack 3 is onononononon FIRE. HIm and Jin make a great collab. TRack 4 very impressed by this guy's ballad skills. Track 5, what can I say? even though I'm not a fan of BI, leehom manages to win me over with the song and the girl insdie it pretty good also. track 6 very cute, not my style, but I'm sure all the ladies will ike it TRack 7, very moving ballad, I don't usually care for ballads but this one is GOOD. track 8. AWESOME! TRack 9, some people find this song weird, but I think it's super fresh. Havn't heard anythign like it before TRack 10, another slow song, but man this guy is making me like slow songs haha.

I just recently became a Leehom fan after his album "Shangri-la" and OMG if you liked shangri-la you'll like this album more. In my personal opinion I felt this album was better than Shangri-la that songs are really catchy and I've been humming along! I really like tracks 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10 I LOVE THIS ALBUM. He always manages to do something new. LISTEN TO RANG KAI. It's a bit different and takes a bit to get used to but omg that song is sooo FRESH!! I've never heard any cpop artist attempt anything close to that song. Leehom proves that he isn't just a sappy ballad singer, he creates some hot tunes. WOW I'm in love with all the songs. But RAng Kai is the most impressive. At first your kind of blown away by the whole concept, but the song is sooo multidimensional, there are sooo many different types of sounds and the more you listen to that song the more surprises you discover Definitly one of the best if not the best Leehom albums I've heard. Wow Leehom you leave me speechless. He's really revolutionized his music. Shangri-la was just the begining and this is WOW. I'm so excited about this album!

I"ve heard about half of his album already and all I can say is I can't wait until my copy arrives!! Wang Lee Hom is an artist that does not let his fans down! None of his songs are the same and each one is unique in it's own way. I love the way he incorporates traditional chinese music into modern music..that takes TALENT!!! and Wang Lee Hom has TALENT!! This album is a must buy!! If you don't buy it...you're missing out!!

I think there's a mistake in the description above, it's Jin the MC not Rain. Anywhoo, I love how Track 3 Heroes of the Earth has Jin rapping!! This album truly brings out the Western and Eastern styles in the songs. I also notice that Leehom took the beginnings of some songs and used it as his. I wonder what that means. I strongly encourage this album!! Support the artists because they give so much effort into music for us. Recommended tracks: 02, 03, 04, 06, 10

On a recent album promotion special on AZIO, he said(and I translate), "On my last album, I started to have an idea. Which is, to have popular mandarin songs be more international. Hopefully utilizing our pop music to introduce a little Chinese culture." In his last album(Shangri-La), Leehom infused Chinese instruments with hip-hop beats. In this upcoming album(Heroes of the Earth), he mixes Peking opera with r&b and hip hop. Leehom refers to this as a "Chinked-out" style of music, claiming it as chinese hip-hop. I will admit this, mixing traditional chinese music with r&b/hip-hop is NOT an original idea. And hearing the word "chinked-out" doesn't exactly rub me the right way. However, Leehom's music is insanely addicting (for me at least, because I cannot speak for everyone) and it's not like he just ripped off some old songs and mixed them up. He actually knows how to play chinese instruments, along with the piano, guitar, and violin. He took the time to understand the sounds of all the genres of music he is mixing; and as an Asian-American he also understands both eastern and western culture. He utilizes this understanding to write, compose, and produce music with inspiration that comes from his own life experiences; and this is why his music is not just orignial, but high-caliber original. Thus, naming it "chinked-out" is actually quite appropriate cause it's a very hip-hop thing to do, take something derogatory and make it cool, thereby playing on people's assumptions and prejudices. And anyway, Leehom is so freakin cool that I can't help but want to be chinked-out like him. Leehom's my Ying Xiong, and if you listen to his music and especially this album, you'd understand why.

I am a music minor at Cal State University Long Beach, and let me just say that nothing makes a person feels as good as making music. I have always been passionate in music and write songs all the time, due to my lack of music knowledge I couldn't put melodies together and compose instrumental sound for my song. When I first heard Hero of the Earth (my big sister's collection) I was blown away by how artistic it sounded. The melodies were just right and Lee Hom uses the right instrument for the right songs. He had guitar in Perfect Interaction, to give off this senstual feeling like you're chilling at a party and interacting with someone of the opposite gender. Then in Kiss Good-bye he played the piano but the soft notes make the lyrics sounded sweet but kinda sad....like first love, bittersweet. Then in his other songs, Beside the Blossoms Field and Hero of the Earth, he uses old Chinese opera and (string chinese guitar...not sure what's it called) to make it sounded traditional but still hip-hoppish with the thumping beats. And in the song, Huo Tien Shuo, he uses (string chinese guitar...not sure what's it called) to make it sound like a old Chinese folk song, but the ballads sounded modern at the same time....very nice. Get Out of My Way had a lot of drums sound like a marching band, kinda like people getting together and singing for the same cause.LOL. This album has so many different LAYERS and it is extremely melodic. I have never listened to anything as artistic as this one, and Lee Hom makes music that touches the heart and it's soothing and very energetic.
My biggest inspiration after listening to his album is to become as accomplish as he is. I know it will be hard, especially since I have never played instruments before, but I will take one step at a time and keep working hard at it. I wanna say thank you to Lee Hom (if he is reading this):
Lee Hom,thank you, for making wonderful music and I know just how happy you are as a musician, being able to write your own songs, your own style, your own creativity, and doing what you feel passionate about. I hope that one day when I meet you in person, I can say that you are my biggest inspiration and then hand you my demo with songs I have worked on. I respect you as an artist and as a person who are so passioante in music and life. Thank you for making music with so much love.

ive only been a recent listener to Leehom's music; I heard Kiss Goodbye on MTV and it sounded amazing. After listening to his newest album, I can safely say he's my favorite artist and inspiration. I play piano myself, and I'm amazed at how well he can play and mix different styles.
rock on =]

I'm relatively new to Leehom's music or I can say Chinese music. Heard his Shangri-la album first time on last Dec '05. Immediately I fell in love with Xin Zhong De Ri Yue and Fang Kai Ni De Xin. I thought am not gonna fall for any other songs again. And I was wrong!! Hua Tian Cuo is simply amazing. Zai Mei Bian, perfect collaboration of Chinese Opera, R&B, and Raps. Gai Shi Ying Xiong is smooth and smart, ba wang li hong yeah! Kiss Goodbye is sweet, strong and romantic. Di Yi Ge Qing Chen, meaningful and touching, made me cry time and again. Hmphhh enuff' said, experience yourself and you will know why Leehom is one of the best heroes on earth ever!
