Here is what some of you are saying ...

AWESOME!
I'm so glad I bought this album even though I had reservations about it because I was afraid it would sound too much like Jay Chou's hip-hop music (which I don't really like). However, Leehom's style is nothing like Jay's even though there are similarities and I have to say I am more partial to Leehom's music. It honestly blows my mind to know that Leehom wrote all the music himself - his talent and ingenuity in incorporating traditional chinese music he collected during his trip with hip-hop into chinese pop speaks volume about the kind of music artist the chinese music scene needs more of these days. Every song on the album is worth listening to; each song exudes the amount of time, effort, extremely hard work Leehom has put into this album and I'm proud to say I own a copy. Support Leehom and appreciate his music! Buy this album, watch the VCD to understand how and where he got his inspiration for this album, and you won't be disappointed!

Well words can't describe, you have to buy it to understand. lol i get so hyper when i listen to it

Romantic Songs...
I love Forever Love, Track 3 & 7! Although every song in this album is good, I do wish Leehom can do more singing than rapping; after all, he has such a great voice!

speechless
wow i'm speechless, this has got to be the best album of the year...and the best of his albums yet. I love how he hasn't forgotten his asian orgin and has placed many aspects of asian music into this mixture. I see alot of artists have sold out to western influence, but this album has alot of asian feel. i was touched to see how much work he placed into this, he traveled throughout china to collect traditional music pieces for his album. you don't see such dedicated artists anymore also i have to admire his versitility..he isn't repititive and has a new style. FREsh. ITS HIGHLY WORTH THE MONEY

Definitely a must have! This cd contains many different types of song from r&b, hip hop to slow songs. I especially enjoy #2 and #4. You can tell how creative he is from all the different songs he composed in this album and the changes in his way of singing throughout his singing career. Great cd and the bonus vcd and album is great.

this album is better than jay's i must say, although i am a big fan of jay, after hearing this album i reckon leehom is more musically talented than jay and has a better voice. all the songs in this album are original and special whereas the songs on jay's album are often repetitive and the same style.

wow
It was touching to see him travel throughout the world just to collect traditional music for his cd. You can truely tell from the work and time he put into making this album it is going to be great. in fact after listening to this cd it is excellent i love how leehom is so verstatile, he can sing so many genres from hiphop to r&b to pop to rock to ballads, etc and this cd is a great combination. I also have to admire his flawless combination of chinese music with that of the western world. Alot of asian singers nowadays are getting too westernized and its nice to see he acknowlodges his roots and is proud. He mixes a traditional chinese sound with r&b smoothly. I highly reccomend this album to anyone who is a fan, or who is iffy of buying it. It's worth the money and in my opinion one of his best albums yet. :P

The East meets West style is superbly done. This is an album that no one should miss. If you only buy one album a year, this is the one that I recommend. You will not regret it.

A Pretty Good Album
I have been a fan of LeeHom ever since he started and recently have been an even bigger fan of Jay Chou -- really started hearing about Jay this past summer (I know he's big, but I live in NJ... it sometimes takes a while) Anyhow, I have to give it to LH to create this CD -- it's really different from a lot of things that I have heard and is really innovative -- I like just about every song on it... the one complaint -- a lot of the songs seems to have beats or "feelings" of the US Top 40's for 2004 -- such as Nelly, JaeKwon and people like that -- but it's a good twist to chinese mando pop ... maybe that is where LH gets his inspiration and creativity? anyhow, a good album overall

Very Good Song!
I heard this song on LeeHom's Sony official website, and I was surprised that it was Good! I mean, usually when the East meets West, it's either a bit strange or exaggeratingly complicated, but this song is smoothly played, LeeHom's voice blends in the song harmoniously, and it has excellent arrangement! Good Job!

So Beautiful
I bought the pre-release vcd today. It is so great watching Lee Hom travel in Asia listening to traditional music. He records much of the music he hears on his journey. Maybe to use as samples for the new CD??? As a GWM in NYC I love his music and his personality. This pre-release glossy card package is very beautiful with lots of pictures. At one point on the VCD, Lee Hom plays his violin and then sings "I sing because I am happy, I sing because I am free" I can't wait to hear the new music CD, I think it may be his best yet.

I had listen to one of the songs on this new CD, it is FANTASTIC. Not only did Leehom kept his usual superb quality in his music making, the "Chink-out" style that he used with his new CD is so fresh and new that you will just want to hear more one after another. I just can't wait for this CD to be in my hands for the holidays.

Hi, LeeHom. I'm your newbie fan ;) When i first saw your mtv of forever love, i fell in love with this song, really! Although in this album, there's so many marvellous songs, all done by u, but i'm got touched by this song & u know wat? when i found that most of the songs in your album are done by u, i've even try 2 write some songs by myself & have kept them in a book. It's very fun & interesting 2 write songs. They might not be the nice lyrics to others, or maybe make no sense, but who cares, they're all done by me, all by myself
o(~.~)o Let's keep up the good works!
May All Good Things Fall On U!

P.S. Really in doubt whether u will see my note.

This is really a touching album for Chinese people that make up the chemical reaction of -"East + West Culture". In addition, it is a new definition for Chinese Hip-Hop "Chinked-out" that Lee Hom u dare to give and share your ideas on your songs and music with people in Taiwan, HK and China.
It worths listening as u beautifully bring out western music style using maybe what we say "MIX and MATCH" to combine with the origin of the Chinese traditional music. It is quite good and give me surprise. Keep go on and revolutionize our music world. WOO .... and Great !!!

Dear Lee Hom...

Once in a long while, a truly gifted artist comes along to blow away the minds and the ears of the music world. You are that artist. I purchased your CD, “Xin Zhong de Ri Yue,” a few months ago and I just had to write this e-mail to congratulate you in creating such a beautiful, original, and successful album! I am truly amazed at how you soar new heights with each album you produce. You always strive to bring something new by challenging yourself. That challenge you willingly accept is always accompanied by the enrichment of your skills, your character and the quality of your music. Your music and your character are truly an inspiration to all your listeners.

Opening the cover of this CD is like opening the cover of one of the many books of the “Lee Hom” series. I like how it’s personalized with a prologue explaining your album’s conception. This friendly welcome creates a closer bond between you and the listeners that have followed your music ever since your first album and a warm introduction for those listeners who are making their first acquaintance with you.

I’m fascinated by how you gave “Xin Zhong de Ri Yue” its originality by uncovering the hidden gems of Chinese music. You incorporated Chinese heritage in your music not only by including a variety of instruments but also by describing traditional values in your lyrics. For instance, you show that respect for nature is a crucial element in all aspects of the Chinese lifestyle. You illustrate in your lyrics that the Chinese recognize that humans and nature are interconnected. Your songs encompass everything from the stars in the universe to humans on earth. I especially like how you show that the human condition is manifested in nature by using simple and specific yet meaningful images. One can discover a plethora of meaning hidden in the valley, the river, the cold, relentless wind, or deep within the bamboo forest. In this way, you remind us urban dwellers of our affinity with nature. In addition, you give the ethnic minorities a voice through your music by including their beautiful singing styles and unrenowned instruments. As a result, the listener’s imagination is transported to the rural areas of China. It has such an enchanting effect!

However, traditional Chinese music is not the only keynote that gives your 10th album its originality. You symphonize it with a contemporary, western flavour, creating a new musical hybrid that could possibly, in my opinion, revolutionize the music world. This harmonious balance symbolizes a yin and yang of the traditional and the contemporary sound. This fusion portrays who you are and what you know: American and Chinese culture. “Chinked-out” builds a bridge between the east and the west. In a way, it feels as if you are acting as a pioneer who will break those stereotypes existing between both cultures, making it easier to cross that bridge to peace, understanding, and friendship. You show that ethnic groups can both maintain their integrity of cultural distinction yet also live together harmoniously as displayed in your music; I pray that message will reach the ears and hearts of all human beings.

“Xin Zhong de Ri Yue” transcends age, time, and culture as well. You bridge the generation gap by not only balancing the music of newer and older generations but also drawing in the common themes of love and loss to your lyrics. People of the past, present, and future can relate to these themes, which reinforces the fact that we are all connected by similar experiences. Different ethnicities can also appreciate the diverse sounds in your songs. For instance, I have a Caucasian friend who watched the music videos that came with your album. Your music and the multiple talents you displayed in the music videos instantly astonished her. I hope your music will give rise to not only respect for the Chinese culture by other ethnicities but also spark their interest in it.

One suggestion I have as to how you may stimulate respect and interest for our culture is to provide translations of your lyrics in English and Japanese of your future Chinese albums. You could provide these translations on your websites so that anyone can easily access them. In addition, you could include pin yin translations so that Chinese people, who are not as proficient with their motherland language, or learners of mandarin could use your music as a rich learning instrument. For instance, I’m not fluent in mandarin but your songs are extremely helpful in making the language easier and a pleasure to learn. People can also immerse themselves in your music where they can learn about Chinese lifestyles, values, and perspectives on the world. It would also give a chance for Chinese people living in foreign countries to learn about the extent and intricacy of their own roots. Being Chinese Canadian and living in a city with a small Chinese community, there aren’t as many opportunities for me to expose myself to the Chinese culture as there are in larger cities. I’m sure there are numerous other Chinese who want to get in touch with their roots but are unable to do so. Please continue to be the guide in revealing to your listeners (Chinese or not) this culture we still know so little about!

Delving into your songs is like a muse for the imagination. Your music has a therapeutic effect that removes me to a dream-like state where I feel relaxed and comforted. I enjoy analyzing the various components of your songs because I realize that you put a lot of thought and detail into each piece. Each instrument and lyric you carefully chose gives a song its unique character. Mystery lies within the words and notes, which takes time to discover and interpret their connotative roles. That’s probably why I can listen to your CD repeatedly without getting bored!

Although the instrumental sounds and lyrics give your music its essence, it is your exquisite voice that manipulates the listener’s emotions. The range of your voice allows you to express the varying nuances of rising and falling emotion, making the listener’s senses tremble in delight, pain or anything in between. Even though I don’t understand every word you sing, I can sense the meaning you’re communicating by listening to your voice. Your voice has this genuine quality of beauty and purity that reminds me of bamboo swaying in the wind. It is strong and powerful yet flexible, versatile, and graceful. This is shown by your ability to sing both Hip Hop and R&B. I savour the texture of your voice that glides into the ears and massages the mind. It reminds me of the serenity one feels when listening to the rustling of bamboo leaves.

It amazes me how your talents extend much further than music but to all different art forms. You can dance, act, speak and write very well in multiple languages, direct your own music videos…and I’m sure the lists runs on and on and that you will only keep on adding new skills to it! Your fervour for learning and self-improvement is unparalleled. You cherish the gifts you have been blessed with and you certainly don’t waste an ounce of that blessing.

You are the epitome of what a song artist should be and the definition of the phrase “chasing your dreams.” You use music as a way of expressing yourself and sharing your perspective on the world and on life like no other. Music is the love of your life. I can hear and feel your heart and soul reverberating in each and every one of your songs. I can sense the passion, the intrigue, the hopes and dreams that drive your music. May new artists take you as their role model and use music for what it’s meant to be used. May they pay less attention to image, money, and superficial things that tarnish the purity and beauty of music. I’m impressed by how you don’t get swept up in the whirlwind of fame and fortune. Your vision of your goals for yourself and your music seem to be well defined and unclouded. Your unique image only fosters your music and the meaning of music to you. The image you present in “Xin Zhong de Ri Yue” also proudly exposes who you truly are along with who you have become. I can tell that you have control and input on how you choose to present yourself. You never seem to get swayed by others telling you what sells because music to you does not fall in the category of “business.” You stay firmly grounded and I really admire that quality in you as an artist and as an individual. I pray that other artists will learn to transform both their music and identities into masterpieces of which they can be proud. I also hope that young adolescents will adopt you as a role model. You prove to them that they can reach their full potentials as long as they have a dream and a relentless drive. With that affirmation you instill in adolescents, may they boldly seek their passion and immerse themselves in it with an insatiable appetite for exploration like you.

Despite all the latter attributes mentioned, the most impressive quality you possess, in my opinion, is your humbleness. Humility is often a quality that wanes when people pride themselves too much in their talents and success. I believe that being and staying humble is one of the most difficult challenges to overcome in the process of self-improvement. One example of your humility is clearly displayed by the way you searched for musical inspiration by traveling to rural regions all over China. The people living in those areas may be ethnic minorities but the way you respected them and incorporated their music into your 10th album clearly demonstrates that you, in no manner, perceive them as minor or underdeveloped in their artistic culture. They absolutely represent the foundation of both Chinese music and the history of music on a worldwide basis. Your willingness to learn more about music shows how you don’t believe you already know all there is to know about the art. I pray that stardom and your own brilliance will never daze your humility.

I’m sure that you would have never reached the stage where you proudly stand today without the help of many others. That is why I am very grateful for the support of your family, friends, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, and just everyone who had a part in bringing your dreams to reality. Your combined effort has given music lovers in Asia and overseas the fortune of getting to know extraordinary talent and an extraordinary person. May their love and support for you be everlasting so that you will have the strength to both captivate more listeners and to reach the highest frontiers in music.

Congratulations in becoming such a successful artist! However, I’m sure your success is far from over. I have a feeling that your horizons are bigger and wider than you can dream of. I hope you will hold a concert in Vancouver, B.C. one day. It would be a dream-come-true! I would definitely take the ferry over to Vancouver to watch you perform. But, I have just one request. Could you please hold one performance on the weekend so that I will not have to skip work or classes at university? Thanks! Take care; you’ll be in my prayers. In the meantime, I will be waiting for news of any upcoming Lee Hom concerts in Vancouver!

May the Lord bless your health, happiness and music career!

Mick Guzauski

力宏書上敘述的「We are the world」這首歌,我覺得好熟悉,
和「愛心無國界 送愛到南亞」主題曲愛這首歌很像,
我在網路上搜尋之後,
才知道是由「We are the world」改編而成的,
